We have a problem with exchange on our sbs2000 server sp4, exchange server
with sp3 .

We collect the mail with the microsoft pop3 connector. The mail comes in and
when viewing the mail in the inbox of the user it looks very strange with a
lot of text and things.

Here is an example of the mail. Why is there al lot of text in the mail. Is
it because of the way the excange server calls voor the mail at the isp.?

Most of us have long ago forgotten what we knew about SBS 2000 and Exchange
Server 2000. On top of that you're using the finicky POP3 connector. Best
advice is to upgrade to SBS 2008 and use SMTP for inbound mail.

Hi Steve,

I know its very outdated... It is for a client of us who is sitting on top
off his bag off money and won't let go, so i guess that is not an option to
go to sbs2008...!!

is there anybody out there with just a little dust on his exchange 2000
brain.?

thanks

Does the customer not have a public IP that they can have the mail come straight to the Exchange Server
or even use a dynamic DNS service

But in the case of this particular mail...Spam Assasin is telling you that this forged email purporting to be from hotmail, but really is not

You might point out to your customer that Exchange 2000 SP3 is end of life On Jan 1, 2011. After that date, you can't even call Microsoft and get support.
